What is the Thought Leadership Academy?

The Thought Leadership Academy is a year-long program for individuals who want to strengthen their visibility on social media and within professional networks in their own industry. The Academy is ideal for leaders, experts, and entrepreneurs who want to strengthen their voice in their industry—whether the goal is personal development or a way to test a business model before investing in a company-specific ambassador program.

By joining the Academy, you’ll become part of a close-knit peer group where you’ll learn together and provide feedback to one another throughout the year. The training combines in-person instruction with online learning and is led by Vapa’s own experts as well as guest lecturers who have built successful personal expert brands of their own.

You’ll receive comprehensive support along the way: one-on-one and group coaching, practical social media guides, and a close-knit peer community that helps you stay on track with your goals.

Structure of the training program

A two part curriculum — choose one or both

The Academy utilizes the same proven methods and tools as Vapa’s company-specific ambassador programs, but the program is designed for independent experts. The training is based on the book Thought Leadership: Toward Corporate Influence with a Human Touch, written by Vapa’s experts.

The program consists of two independent but complementary parts: a basic course in the spring and an advanced course in the fall.

You can sign up for one of the following:

BASIC COURSE: Fundamentals of Expert Branding – this course begins with the basics of network building and personal influence, sets goals, and lays a strong foundation for building a professional personal brand

ADVANCED COURSE: Toolkit for a Goal-Oriented Personal Brand – this training delves deeper into key B2B influencer skills and helps you develop the skills needed to create even more impactful communication

BOTH COURSES – delivered as a single 12-month journey, progressing from the basics to more multidimensional influence and public speaking

Participation in Part 2 (Advanced Course) requires completion of Part 1 or an equivalent level of prior knowledge (suitable, for example, for communications professionals).

The training program culminates in a final gala celebrating each participant’s progress and achievements over the past twelve months.

Both courses include three coaching sessions and two one-on-one mentoring sessions.

The annual course begins with a joint assessment of your current situation and goals, and concludes with a review of the results achieved in relation to the set goals.
